Facilities Associate

Position Overview

Position: Facilities Associate (Part-Time, Hourly)
Advances the mission of Real Life by working in partnership with and under the direction of the
Director of Operations to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who enter the
church.

Building and Grounds

  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning of all church facilities, including worship spaces, classrooms, restrooms, offices, common areas, and exterior spaces
  • Ensure floors, carpets, windows, furniture, and fixtures are maintained and cleaned regularly
  • Conduct light maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing and electrical fixes, assembling furniture, and general repairs as needed
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms for church services, meetings, events, and activities, ensuring all environments return to standard immediately following the event
  • Monitor and restock cleaning and restroom supplies, notifying the Director of Operations when inventory is low
  • Ensure trash is properly collected and disposed of in a timely manner
  • Identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Director of Operations
  • Assist in maintaining and upkeep the exterior of the church, including minor landscaping tasks such as sweeping sidewalks, clearing debris, and maintaining entrance areas

Ministry Support

  • Prepare the facility for Sunday services and special events by ensuring all spaces are clean, set up appropriately, and in good working order
  • Work alongside volunteers and staff to support facility needs for community groups, baptisms, and special church functions
  • Provide support during church-wide events, including setup, breakdown, and cleanup
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned based on skills and needs

Expectations

The ideal candidate is dependable, hard-working, and enthusiastic to get the job done. They are
steady under pressure, willing to take direction, and able to work both independently and as part of a
team. They show up on time, and keep a positive, “can do” attitude. They take pride in doing quality
work, stay clear of drama, and are eager to learn new skills as needed. Physical stamina, practical
problem-solving, and a strong work ethic are essential.
