- How can we cultivate the habit of regularly “pondering the path” we’re on with Christ?
Prepare for Persecution (vv. 12–13)
- Paul says persecution is promised for everyone who desires to live a godly life. How does that challenge the way we often think about the Christian life?
- Pastor Freddy T broadened our idea of persecution to include mockery, rejection, or exclusion. Have you experienced this? What did it look like?
- John Stott described persecution as “the clash between two irreconcilable value systems.” Where do you see those value systems clashing in our culture today?
- Jesus tells us to rejoice and even pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:11–12; 5:44). What makes this difficult, and how can we grow in this posture?

- Why do you think perseverance is so rare in our culture today?
- What practical things help you keep pressing forward in your faith when life gets hard?
